At Catmandu, the approach for sanctuary cats is a bit different from those being re-homed. Sanctuary cats are usually those who face challenges in being adopted due to medical issues, behavioral traits, or age. These cats remain in Catmandu’s care for the long term. Here’s what you can expect in terms of their care and updates.

Can I get my Cat into the Sanctuary?

Longer Wait Times

Since sanctuary cats require permanent space and potentially more resources, there might be a longer wait for them to be accepted into Catmandu’s care.

Prioritization of Needs

Cats with severe medical or behavioral issues might be prioritized over others, which could affect wait times.

Am I able to get placement updates?

Once your cat is accepted into sanctuary care, you can inquire about their living situation and how they’re adjusting to Catmandu’s free-roaming, cage-free environment.

Catmandu may give updates on the cat's behavior with other cats and how well they are settling into their permanent home at the sanctuary.

Am I able to get Health and Wellbeing Updates?

For sanctuary cats, you can request periodic updates about their health status, especially if they have ongoing medical conditions or are on long-term treatments.

Catmandu might share information about their quality of life, including any improvements or challenges they are facing while in sanctuary care.

Am I Able to get Long Term Updates?

If you indicate on the surrender form that you'd like updates on the sanctuary cat, Catmandu may keep you informed about any significant changes in their condition or if there are important milestones in their care.

Since sanctuary care is typically a more permanent arrangement, it’s essential to confirm with Catmandu how often they provide updates and what kind of information they can share, particularly for long-term residents.
