In Memory of Heidi

 
Heidi passed away Nov. 14, 2024. Her ashes came back to Catmandu as she was an integral part of the Sanctuary. Tim was Heidi's sponsor and continues to donate to help other untouchable cats like Heidi. 
Heidi  was sort of a ghost cat here at Catmandu. Long story, but this  little feral cat ended up getting under the building and made that her home. We had the crawl space access in the laundry room open for her and she came up to eat, drink, groom and nap. She resisted every effort to trap her or get her to move out of the laundry room and into one of the feral sections of the 'Du. 
She got extremely sick in 2022 and we were able to get her into medical. While she allowed me to handle her, pet and stroke her,  hand feed her, give her fluids and daily homeopathy; once she was feeling healthy again she reverted back to her feral little self and would not let any humans near her. We released her into the 'Du where she quickly made friends with the other cats and became comfortable. She was extremely happy and looking very healthy from the brief glimpses we got of her, until she passed away suddenly on Nov. 14, 2024.
We are so glad she got a couple of good years, living free in the backyard, and really miss her sassy and hidey little self.
